I'm Emily, also called Pika, Pikachu, or Hermione. Whatever works for you. I'm a fan of Criminal Minds, Clannad, most anime, Zelda, and Harry Potter. If you follow my blog, expect to see lots of posts about them. <3
I might as well blog about this, I guess. I had a huge scare today. :/
I was rushed to the hospital around 4. Basically, I had intense chest pains, laboured breathing, my hands fell asleep and I couldn’t move my fingers, my face went extremely pale and my lips were blue. It was scary as hell. I thought I was having a heart attack or something. We were on our way to pick up my friend’s boyfriend and his sister, and I could barely breathe. So we called an ambulance, and they picked me up and we went to the hospital. Might I say, ambulance rides are very scary. It was for me, anyway. I had to be hooked up to an oxygen machine thingy so I could begin to breathe normally, and they put these sticky things and arm cuff on me to read my blood pressure. Then they pricked two of my fingers so they could read my blood sugar level. I despise needles, so despite what pain I was in I wiggled from discomfort and had to look away while they pricked me. It sucked. :/ Then they commenced to ask me a million questions including what exactly I was feeling, my name, age, address, all that basic stuff they need to know since my parents weren’t there.
My friends handled it pretty well, I must say. While I was still in the car they made sure I got enough water and wasn’t randomly passing out, and were the ones who called the ambulance for me. Then while I was in the hospital they stayed with me the entire time (almost 4 hours). They even bought me food because I was hungry. <3
Then the doctor people took an EKG (whatever that means), a chest x-ray, a blood-oxygen test, and a blood test. The blood test was the worst. I. hate. needles. I’ve already mentioned this but I’m gonna say it again. It took one of my friends squeezing my hand and distracting me so I wouldn’t flip out. It hurt like a beast! Though, it was to make sure my blood didn’t clot because of the chest pain.
The EKG, chest x-ray, blood-oxygen test, and blood test all turned out fine with no problems. They did say that I have a heart murmur, though. Basically, it’s the sound the heart makes when the blood flow passes through the four chambers. Apparently a lot of people have it. I’m still slightly confused as to how serious it is, because I’m getting mixed responses. They said I should go to my family doctor for some follow-up appointments for it, though. xP Let’s hope it won’t kill me, eh?
I’m okay now. Just slight dizziness and minor chest pain. My breathing’s back to normal now. But man… what a day. -__- I’m gonna go sleep in a few minutes.
Needles still suck.
Emily.
